There are four main requirements to qualify for unemployment benefits: you must have paid into the unemployment insurance system for at least one year, your job loss must not be due to your own choice, you must have completed the registration process, and you must still be actively looking for new work. The length of time you qualify for benefits depends on how many years you contributed: up to 12, 18, or 24 months respectively. Instructions on how to apply online are included in Section 7, Item 1. Non-compete agreements are valid for a maximum of two years, during which the employer is required to pay you monthly compensation. If the contract does not specify an exact amount, the payment is calculated as 30% of your average monthly wage over the 12 months prior to leaving your job, with a minimum floor set at the local minimum wage. You can only request to terminate the non-compete agreement if the employer fails to make these payments for three consecutive months; details on this process are in Section 11, Item 12. Unlike some other agreements, non-compete terms have a clear expiration date, and you must abide by all terms until that date arrives.
